Questions You May Have About Us

What are the Worship Services like at FBC, Searcy?

Every Worship Service at FBC, Searcy is a chance to experience God's presence. We seek to glorify God through real, heartfelt expressions of praise and thanksgiving. That means, through a combination of music and media (including congregational praise, worship choir, soloists, and videos), you will experience God when you worship at FBC.

In addition, every worship experience at FBC will include a message from God's Word, usually by our pastor, Dr. Brian Whitney.

Where should I park when I visit FBC?

There are several parking areas that are used by First Baptist Church on Sundays, Wednesdays, and during special event times. The Main Parking Lot is located at the corner of Spruce and Center Streets directly across the street from our Worship Center. Two smaller parking lots are also available; one on Spring Street across from our New Preschool & Family Education Building, and one at the corner of Spruce and Pleasure adjacent to our 3-Story Children & Youth Building. We also have access to a city lot at the corner of Spruce and Center adjacent to our main parking area.

Here are some general instructions about closeness and location of classes:
Preschool, Senior Adults and Special Ministries - Spring Street Lot
Worship Center - Main Spruce Street Lot
Children, Youth, Family Ministry Center, and Church Office - Small Pleasure Avenue Lot

Where is the Main Church Office?

Our Main Church Office is located at the corner of Pleasure Avenue and Spruce Street on the first floor of our 3-Story Children & Youth Building. You can enter through the main entrance of the building, but because of security reasons, you must ring a bell and wait for assistance. All other entrances are usually locked during the week but remain unlocked on Sundays, Wednesdays, and during other church events.

What kinds of Bible Study opportunities are available at FBC?

Bible study opportunities are available for individuals of every age and in every stage of life. Weekly Life Groups meet on Sunday mornings at 9:15am. These are usually age-graded groups, but are open to anyone. A list of these is located under FBC Ministries by clicking, “Adult Bible Studies.”

In addition, several times a year we offer other studies that vary in length and topics and are sometimes designed for specific groups (i.e. Women, Parents, etc.). Continually check this site for more information about these studies.

Is there a place for my children during Bible Study and Worship?

During the 9:15 Life Group hour there are also classes for preschoolers, children, and youth. These classes are staffed by dedicated church members with a heart and passion for reaching people for Christ.

Many short-term studies are scheduled during Children’s Choirs and Wednesday Evening activities so that children have a place to be during the study time. Rest assured, in the unlikely event that childcare or children’s programming is not available for a specific study, we will let you know in advance.

During the Morning Worship, we provide care for children up through Kindergarten. During the Evening Worship, there is care for children ages birth through 3-years-old and Mini Music Makers Choir for Pre-K and Kindergarten.
